Who can be in the car when I have a learner's permit?
If I am driving with a permit, who can legally be in the car with me. Example, I'm driving, an adult is in the passenger seat, who is legally allowed in the back seat.

No one is allowed in the back seat. You can only have yourself and your instructor/ adult
the adult must have a valid license and be over the age of 21 in ohio, idk about other places.
The details vary by state. The ONE thing that is consistent is their must be a FULLY licensed driver in the front passenger seat. In many US states, that driver must be at least 21.
I noticed most of the prior answers misunderstood the question, and stated who must be in the FRONT seat, not who CAN be in the back seat.
Check your state's Department of Transportation website.
Depend on your state but in California, any licensed driver who is 18 or older can be in the car and you cannot transport anybody else but that person.
An adult who is over 21 and has had their license for over a certain amount of time (a year, I think?) and immediate family, like mother, father, and siblings. It also depends on the area you live in, but that's the general allowance.
