There are 5 law programs offered by HKU:

Nothing particular is required for the standalone LLB program.

However, for others, you will have to determine based on the program of your choice.

As always, excellent result in English is a key for admission.

As a veteran of our public school system, I would like to inform you that Hong Kong has NO A Level exam anymore. If you study in local secondary school, your only choice is DSE.

The nearest qualification is British A Level exam, you may take the exam in UK. However, I am not sure the recognition of UK A Level in current system. As I know, when Hong Kong A Level exam is ended, most students choose DSE or International Baccalaureate (IB) exam for entering local university. I have heard cases of IB candidates entered local Us but known no case of UK A Level.

So, if you want to study HKU Law, you should take DSE. For subjects, Law department when all kinds of students to apply, so subjects are not very important. The only important criteria is you must have excellent public exam result, especially with top English result.

I am not really familiar with A Level but as a DSE student, I think it really does not matter what subjects you choose. Law is not science/ engineering subjects etc which require students to study related foundation topics in secondary schools. Therefore, you don't have to worry about the subjects you choose in order to get into the law faculty. If you read the requirements of the faculty, it also states that it welcomes all types of students, no matter what field they are in.
All you have to do is to study what you are good at and have interests in them so that you can be get higher grades easier!
