How do you say "I love him" in Spanish?

To say, "I love her," it's "La amo," correct? So I assumed "I love him," is "El amo," but when I put that into Google Translate it says that it's "master."

Lo amo= I love him.

"Lo" means "him" because "him" is receiving the direct action.
You use "él" when "él" is the subject of the sentence.

The word "amo" can be a verb or a noun, depends on the context."

"El amo" is a noun that means "the master."
Aladin es el amo de la lámpara. (Aladin is the master of the lamp.)

The verb "amar" means "to love" and it's conjugated like this:

Yo amo = I love
Tú amas = you love
él ama/ella ama = he/she loves
nosotros amamos = we love
ellos aman = they love

Te amo = it means literally, "I love you," but te amo is used to express very strong, very intimate love.

Te quiero is like, I luv ya, I care about you. The above poster is quite right.

You use "lo" and "la" for direct objects. For example, Lo amo = I love him. Lo = him because it's the direct object.

You use "le" for indirect objects.

For example, Mi amigo y yo fuimos al café. Le compré un refresco.
(My friend and I went to the café. I bought him a soda.)
He's receiving the indirect action. I didn't buy him (it would be weird to have to pay for your friends), I bought a soda FOR him. He's indirectly receiving the action.

Lo amo ( Romantic )

Lo Quiero ( if it´s your dog or your brother, etc. ) .. Although it is very common for native spanish speakers to mix these up.

It is "Lo amo"

"Lo" means "him" or "it" depending on the context, "le" would not be the proper word to use.

Te quiero = I want you / I love you

Te quiero
Literally means "I want you" in spanish, but doesn't always mean that one wants you. While in English one can change from "I like you" to "I love you", Spanish speakers usually has three transitions:

1. "Me gustas" (I like you)

2. "Te quiero!" (I love you in a soft and general way like "Luv ya")

3. "Te amo" (I love you, very strong and intimate)

Spanish is My 3rd lang but I even need to look some things up..
