How many AP courses should I take if I have taken one year of IBDP and want to change to AP in 12th grade?
I hope to apply to colleges like UCLA and UC San Diego. I heard the more you the more you seem to be challenging yourself but IB is also regarded as a rigorous program so I'm wondering if I've already taken one year of a ''full'' IB program that would benefit me to take less AP courses in 12th grade?

Take as many as you can while maintaining straight A's.
If they're hard for you, it's much better to have a 4.0 transcript with shop class and home ec than a bunch of AP classes and a 3.0 GPA.
Colleges don't care that much about AP vs. IB. They do care whether you're challenging yourself as much as you can reasonably handle. If you take a rigorous course load junior year and then completely slack off senior year because you think you've done your quota of college-level coursework when there's really no such thing, that's not going to look good. (If you cut back because you realized your mental health and ability to focus on what really matters to you was suffering, that's different.)
