急問英文時態的問題

英文 grammar:

1. 〔動詞的〕體時態 tense - showing the time, continuance or completion of an action or state that is expressed by the verb.
~ present
~ past

(using modal verb "will", "shall", ...etc. to express the tense of future)

2.〔動詞的〕體 aspect - showing whether an action is continuing, or happens always, repeatedly, or once.
~ simple
~ perfect
~ continuous


(1) 講 上個星期六我收到Mary 封信:
Simple Past tense: I received a letter from Mary last Saturday. (with definite time of the action)

(2) 宜家 Present - 講目前的情況:
Present Perfect tense:
(a) I have (already) received Mary's letter, but it is not with me now.
(b) I have received Mary's letter and it is with my Daddy (and it is at my Daddy's place) now.

You can use either Simple Past or Present Perfect depending on what you want to express, regardless of whether the letter is with you or not.

Simple Past tense: I received a letter from Mary last Saturday but I left it at my Daddy's home.

The letters were left in (my father's) safe-keeping.

適宜用"I have received Mary's letter." because you 已收到Mary 封信,止不過暫時不在你手上.
