You are in good company, Pope Francis accepts the theory of evolution also. You don't 'believe' in evolution, you either accept the theory as valid or you don't.
2015-03-30 4:06 pm
Catholic schools teach evolution.
2015-03-30 3:59 pm
No? The Bible isn't a scientific book. Around 99% Catholic high schools teach evolution in bioligy class.
2015-03-30 3:59 pm
The Vatican itself has no problem with evolution. If you're worried about it, I'd suggest learning more about your religion.
2015-03-30 3:59 pm
No. Even the pope has admitted that evolution is a fact. It would be bad if you deluded yourself into believing that barbaric mythologies are real but scientific facts are not. That would be very bad.

Believe whatever you like. But, if you want to be intellectually honest about it, use facts, not fables, to establish reality.
2015-03-30 4:06 pm
Given that the Catholic Church has OFFICIALLY stated evolution is correct, I do not know why you would think this bad.
2015-03-30 4:26 pm
"Bad" as in morally wrong, or just inconsistent? Well, no to both of those. I'm not even going to address the first one, and Pope John Paul II said that Catholic beliefs and science are reconciliable.
2015-03-30 7:40 pm
No, that is the mainstream for Catholicism
I was taught both evolution in sciences classes and that God created all ultimately from nothing in religion classes in Catholic schools and that was 50 years ago
Every priest I know believes in evolution and there are priests with PHDs in evolutionary biology
There is no conflict between Catholic Christianity and evolution
the conflict is with certain forms of Fundamentalist Protestantism
2015-03-30 4:01 pm
No it isn't bad. Darwin himself was a Christian. He was studying to become a pastor until he switched to becoming a naturalist.
2015-03-30 4:03 pm
The Catholic Church accepted evolution yonks ago.
2015-03-30 3:59 pm
Nothing wrong with that.

You could probably work on the catholic part though.

Only those indoctrinated by the sects and cults believe God was not clever enough to use the big bang, evolution and science as his tools!

The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution!

Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”!

Yes it is bad in God's eyes !

I personally believe in God and also in the evolution process.
The evolution is an ongoing process having God as the 'first cause' of creation.
2015-03-30 4:20 pm
no
2015-03-30 4:06 pm
That is the Roman Catholic position I think.
2015-03-30 4:01 pm
The more we learn the smaller God's role becomes.
2015-03-30 4:26 pm
Catholicism teaches that, so why do you ask. you were raised to believe that not replace the fact of God's creation with it, or whore after theories.
2015-03-30 4:08 pm
Yeah..because it goes against Genesis... God created everything ...the entire bible is true
2015-03-30 4:03 pm
Yes. That is bad. You are on a good way. You could free yourself from superstition and realize that gods never existed.
2015-03-30 4:01 pm
yes its bad to believe in evolution
2015-03-30 4:04 pm
Well, the being a Catholic bit is not too good, but accepting evolution is fine, even by the Catholic Church.
2015-03-30 4:04 pm
By 2007 everything the Atheists had made up ,since they lost to God in the Supreme Court in the 1930s, has been tested and discovered to ALL be Fakes! Science dose Not have any proof to evolution!
Can any Atheists or yourself state Where the very first atom could have come from to pop out of nothing, then make everything needed to make up the Big Bang Theory only? Nope!
2015-04-02 10:51 am
So does the Pope.
2015-03-31 11:37 am
The last three Pope's have also believed in evolution, including Pope Francis.

In the 1950 encyclical Humani generis, Pope Pius XII confirmed that there is no intrinsic conflict between Christianity and the theory of evolution.

Then on October 22, 1996, address to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Pope John Paul II updated the Church's position to accept evolution of the human body:
"In his encyclical Humani generis (1950), my predecessor Pius XII has already affirmed that there is no conflict between evolution and the doctrine of the faith.

On October 27, 2014, Pope Francis issued a statement at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences that "Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation," warning against thinking of God's act of creation as "God [being] a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything."

All of the Catholics I know believe in evolution, as does the leader of your church, so I fail to see what your problem is with believing in evolution.
2015-03-30 11:32 pm
yes. both being catholic and believing in evolution is bad
2015-03-30 10:13 pm
Cool maybe you can find out where Catholics come from?
2015-03-30 9:15 pm
Darwin was Christian. The promulgator of the Big Bang theory is a Catholic Priest. Does that answer you?
2015-03-30 8:56 pm
As everyone else just believes the bits of the bible you agree with, then I think it is a religious buffet. Just quote the bits you think sound right and forget the rest.

Or you have to believe everything in there which includes Leviticus 24:16 Which states "Whoever utters the name of the Lord must be put to death. The whole community must stone him, whether alien or native. If he utters the name, he must be put to death." - So that just about rules out any priests sermon.
2015-03-30 7:29 pm
Evolution is part of accepted Catholic doctrine. Why do I know more about your religion than you do?
2015-03-30 6:16 pm
If the Catholic church believes it is Christian then it should believe in creation, as Jesus Christ did.
"Have you not read that He who made them in the beginning made them male and female" Matthew 19:4
2015-03-30 5:56 pm
Same here; catholic and believes God created all including evolution.
2015-03-30 4:04 pm
It only is bad when you believe Charles Darwin's false theory of evolution on how life evolved on planet earth.
