You must know that 1 foot = 12 inches!

So 1.5 feet = 12 x 1.5 = 18 inches, and 9 x 18 = . . .

1 square foot = a square 1 ft by 1 ft = 12 in x 12 in

= 144 sq in. Area = L x W, so L = A / W = 144 / 6 = . . .

No. 1 question.
First you have to convert the feet to inches, so, 1.5 feet is equal to 18 inches.
Now you can find the area of the rectangle: 9 inches x 18 inches = your answer in square inches.

Now, I am sure you can calculate question no. 2!
