(a)P(head or odd)
= P(head) + P(odd) - P(head and odd)
= 1/2 + 3/6 - (1/2)(3/6)
= 1/2 + 1/2 - (1/2)(1/2)
= 1 - 1/4
= 3/4
(b)
P(> 3)
= P(4 or 5 or 6)
= 3/6
= 1/2
Note: The coin is irrelevant here.
