Why would anyone who is healthy and able-bodied want to be a government dependent and not want to get out and work.?

How many people on welfare actually meet your definition? It isn't as much as you think. The real problem is that people are being paid less for the same work compared to a decade ago.

And rethink the controlled by people you don't know argument. When you work for someone else, that is exactly what you are doing.

We lazy able-bodied people have other things to do-
Efficiency would free most people from most jobs- We have the technology.
Over Work kills the ecosystems and empowers the BOSSY rich.

Most people on public assistance DO work -- their obscenely wealthy employers refuse to pay them enough to live on.

As for those who don't, there are not enough JOBS for everyone who wants one.

Conservatives apparently believe people would rather subsist on a bare minimum income, than work to improve their lives. They believe this despite also believing that the rich will simply stop working if we don't ensure they can get as much as possible...

The problem you have is people are working, no thanks to those sitting around blaming them for being entitlement holders for life. You did nothing to help the workers of this country. Yet you want them to starve while you collect benefits yourselves.

They have been trained by liberals that they can get almost as much by not working, or even worse, that they can work under the table and still get their benefits. Also, if they decide to have more children they can't afford, the liberals will reward that too!

Liberals have been working tirelessly for 60 years to transform the American dream from one of building a business and making a contribution to society to loafing and mooching on welfare. They have pretty much succeeded.
