Domestic power supply in Hong Kong is at voltage of 220 v. Each household power socket delivers a maximum current of 13 A.
Hence, the maximum power supplied by a power socket
= 220 x 13 watts = 2860 watts
Allow 10% safety factor, the maxiimum power that can be safely drawn from each socket = 2860 x 0.9 watts = 2574 watts
Each electrical appliance should have the "wattage" marked on it. You just add up the the wattage of each appliance used. If the total wattage is less than 2574 watts, there is no overloading of the extension board.
For example, if you plug a TV set (300 w), a desktop computer (500 w), a portable ceramic heater (1000 w) into the extension board. The total power consumption = (300 + 500 + 300) w = 1100 w. It is well within the max power loading (2574 w) of the of board.
