I just started using a wireless mouse with my laptop several months ago. I'm finding it so much easier than the mouse pad on the laptop. I was always moving the cursor when I didn't want to and making other mistakes trying to use the cursor correctly to open or shut down programs. I just love using the wireless mouse instead of my fingers on the mouse pad.
Yes, I also use a wireless keyboard. The laptop sits on the desk and I have a lapboard on which sits the wireless keyboard and mouse. When you ask what do I gain I say there is very little chance of spilling any liquids onto the laptop as my drinks are not kept on the desk. My laptop is just 2 weeks shy of 1 year old and my fingers have never touched the keyboard of the laptop. If I am so possessed to take it with me I have a briefcase style carrying case in which I place the laptop, keyboard, mouse and charger for use as needed. One of my desktops, monitors and speakers would be too cumbersome to take on a trip which is when the laptop gets used.
Yes,use a mouse with laptop
I have grown tried of using a mouse pad sometimes it works other times it don't with a wired or wireless mouse i have more control also drivers are easy to find { windows generic drivers }, now when i go completly mobile with the laptop then i would use the mouse pad because it's hard to use a mouse with the laptop in your lap
Yes, I use a mouse, whenever I use the Laptop, because I find the touch-pad is not positive enough and wastes my time due to too many errors. I suppose if I were to practise more, it may improve, but usually when I use the laptop, I am in a hurry for results.
No. Once I got used to my laptop, a mouse just felt weird. I hate desktops, I love being able to carry my laptop around! My laptop has a mouse pad.... Why would I need another mouse?
Yes, I use a mouse. It is a laptop, but always using as a desktop. So it is convenient for me to use a mouse.
Of course i use a mouse with my laptop it is very easy to work but when i am going other place i don't use a mouse with with laptop.

I have a Lenovo with a touchpad you can use your thumb and index finger to spread an image or page... and the thing seems to go back to "tap to click" even if I disable it... meaning more than one instance where I would be listening to music and inadvertently the volume would go up to max on my headphones.
SUPER dorky feature that doesn't work right... but this is a 2011.
Anyway, I'm using a table that once belonged to a burger joint that went under, and the table was auctioned off and my mom bought it.
No room for a mouse.
I wish.
I hope Lenovo worked out the kinks to this touchpad... because it is beyond failure and beyond stupidity.
The design is just a catastrophe beyond words.
