朗文文法書裡的例句&文法問題

1) （現在簡單式)
p.1: "My mothers looks healthier than she has for years."
我母親看來比過去幾年還健康。
請問為甚麼是"has"不是"does"呢？

答：
mothers多打了s。
漏打了been，應是has been才對，因為有for years表示從過去到現在好幾年了，要搭配現在完成式。

即使沒有for years也不可用has，而可用is, was(外觀vs實際)，或用did=looked(現在外觀vs過去外觀)；
絕對不可用does，因為does=looks，兩者相同無比較的餘地。


2) p.5 表示傾向
"Children will be children---they always have been noisy."
小孩就是小孩，他們總是很吵。
請問在they與always之間為什麼不用加are呢？

答：
have been就是動詞，當然不可加are，否則就造成雙動詞錯誤了。
也就是說，加are就要移除have been ---> they are always noisy.

樓下說把人跟時間比較很怪異，是對文法不熟悉，
英文中「重複的主詞+beV」常被省略：
She looks more healthy than (she was) before.

本句不可省略looked; 不論是has looked或has been都必須完整寫出；

另舉一例：
I won't spend any further money on it than I have spent for years.
如不想重複spend/spent這個動詞，可代之以done，但不可省略。

你好怪異耶!怎麼拿媽媽和時間比較呢?而且時間怎有健康可以比較呢? 應該是: "我媽媽看起來比她過去幾年中都要健康" 降才對啊.
請問為甚麼是"has"不是"does"呢？
因為是"剛剛過去的這幾年中"所以用"現在完成式"啊!

原句=
My mother looks healthier than she has (looked) for (the past few) years..還有一點要注意的是:這句是以主動代替被動.("他看起來健康" 其實是"他被看起來健康")

"Children will be children---they always have been noisy."
小孩就是小孩，他們總是很吵。
你翻譯的是 "Children will be children - they are always noisy."你的原句應該翻成:"孩子們就是孩子們 - 他們近來真是吵."

因為原句是現在完成式.
請問在they與always之間為什麼不用加are呢？
是可以用簡單事來表示"單純的事實".

They are always noisy.

但是也只能2選一啊!

你太在意文法了啦!你的缺點是"閱讀不夠".文法規則太過枯燥無味,不適合你的.你應該用"情境感覺法"來聊解 各種時式 的不同.並不是 簡單的翻譯成 "已經" 或是 "近來"就可以讓你完全聊解的!

(1) The simple present tense:-
has= be in possessuion of
=keeps her own;
=possess
Hence can't use looks--->does ; but "has" is Okay !!!

(2)(have been)= verb
=had enjoyed
=knew
=lived through
=undergo;
always=adverb=They (have been )noisy always(Hence are can't be put in the ending of the word "always".)
=always
=consistently
=constantly
=continually,
=endlessly,
=for ever and ever
=invariably
=repeatedly etc.
