So you made a racist joke to this girl, everyone know it s a joke, even the girl herself know that it was a joke, and it wasn t supposed to be mean. Everyone including the girl herself was laughing at it. And after a while, you heard that girl says your name (without knowing that you re there) telling her friends what was your joke, what you said, and laughing at it. Would you feel uncomfortable about? or think that she s talking behind your back?

It would depend on her tone of voice and with whom she was speaking.A separate and much worse issue is the idea that you would tell a racist joke. Everyone can know it's a joke, etc. etc., but it is still wrong. The ugliness of calling attention to skin color or ethnicity is mean, no matter what you intend.
