What could happen in court ?

I got into a accident , no damage done to my car or the other persons car. But the police was involved . I was driving with no insurence. Well I got a ticket , paid that off. And also a court date for not having any coverage.
I have insurence now. So what could they do? Fine ? Suspended license ?
I live in Virginia ( fairfax county)

Thanks a lot

Good that you paid the fine, and now have insurance, but of course that policy won't go into the past and cover the time you were driving uninsured.

What happens depends on the judge. If he thinks it was a mere oversight on your part it may go well.

If not he can order you to have an SR22 rider on your insurance for 36 months, which will raise your insurance rate.

You will find out in court.

Lots can happen. It's entirely up to the judge.

The fine can be up to $500, and your licence can (and probably will) be suspended until you pay an uninsured vehicle registration fee. You'll also have to file proof of financial responsibility for three years, and your insurance rates will be hellacious until the conviction expires on your driving record.

Hiring a traffic lawyer is a really good idea.
