Why are people so offended by curse words?

Seriously people why? Words are just sounds that we form. So your getting furious over sound. I don't care what you think the words mean, its just sound.

So far the excuses that I heard for people getting offended by curse words are:

1) "Those words aren't in the bible". Ok so because your book doesn't have them, that makes them bad?

2) "My religion bans cursing". My personal favorite, so your excuse for getting offended by sounds is because your religion says its bad. Ok so you just used your religion as an excuse for your own stupidity.

3) "My kids don't need to hear that", so your kids can't hear me say it, but they can hear it in movies, games, and guess what....in school to. Yes kids curse at school all the time. Are you going to write everyone who curses and tell them to stop? Or just annoy me?

4) "It's just offensive", so you have no clue why it bothers you, you have no logical explanation, but your still going to have a fit.

5) "I don't want to hear it", so you don't want to hear it? Well I don't want to see or hear you but yet your still here, and I'm not walking over to you and complaining about.

6)"It means your uneducated", really that's your best excuse? I know people with Doctorate degrees and they curse all the time. I hold an associates, a bachelors, and run my own business (the business of fixing your vehicles, your just so smart that you can't do it yourself). So explain how I am uneducated?
