你似乎想問用by是否亦對?
答案是"不對"
因為決定用by這個perposition是否正確要看"使用"的受物是否跟主體在句子中的表達有否操作關係。
這句的主題並不是人可以"用甚麼過馬路"而是"在甚麼位置過馬路"才不會被車死。重點是那過路人跟過路任置的關係。所以配搭用詞的合理便應該是at某/那位置才算"安全"。
(筆者註: 這例句常識上是錯的立論 = 是否在斑馬線上過馬路都是有可能被車死的，按照法例而言，在斑馬線上沒有免被車死的權利或責任，反而不在斑馬線/合法的過路設施過路，執法人員(警察)有權對那人作出違法檢控。)
