She will need a lawyer.

Even her desire is returning to the Mainland, in term of procedure, she breached her condition of stay. Immigration Department must detain her to process the deportation (at the least, documenting everything). Depending on the process, she can be hold by Immigration Department for days before she can be deported and released.

The easiest way is to work with a lawyer and see if the lawyer can work with the Department for a streamlined process. At the least, with a lawyer, she can be avoided from holding.
