Do they have to do it by November ?

My ex boyfriend was abusive. I got an intervention order against him and when he found out he made a fake Facebook account and used it to send pictures of him and I having sex, to my parents and a friend. The police have taken his phones and laptops and are 'investigating'. The cop that I spoke to told me that they need to take the computers in for "analysis" and need an appointment, he said they have 12 months to do it. The 12 months will end in November, is it possible that they might not even do it by November?
