Changing my last name in college???

I start college next semester as a transfer student and I would like to change the last name associated with my file. Legally I have both of my parents last name but my previous school records only has my mom's last name. When I applied for the college I'm going to attend I used both of my parents last names since that's my legal name. Do you think I will be able to change it to just my mom's so that everything matches up, as well as making it easier to match my transfer papers up. Will this mess up my college information and will I have to wait till the semester starts? I would like to duo this veggie I have to register fire classes. Thanks!

At the college level you need to be using your legal name.
If you want to use just your mother's name from now on- for all legal papers, taxes, jobs, then get it switched in court.

go to the register's office with all your legal documents to get your name changed

I would like to duo this veggie, too. Can you recommend a good cookbook for that?

Just tell them all the names you've ever been known by and they can put all the records together. They are used to this sort of thing when people get married or whatever and it's not a big deal.
