Einstein falsified newton, Newton's equations can be teached to a school child, but people coming here and saying Newton is better even dont know basics of Einstein's works. If you go slightly deeper to Einstein's works, they will all give up. Einstein is the most genius person in history of science, even professors cannot grasp Einstein's theories and they state it, since it is normal.

Difficult.
We can say that two boxes measuring 2 X 3 X 8 & 3 X 4 X 4 are the same in volume as we know their full dimensions. We can't say that about two individual geniuses like Newton & Einstein. Set in their Times both are equally great, setting trends that bore the edifice of future Science.
Einstein being recent, has left a lot of anecdotal details compared to Newton. That makes him loom larger. However if you ask an average man (a little more informed in Science & its methods) he 'd say Newton because he can comprehend him better or easier & as the man who fundamentally altered the course of Scientific thinking that is all pervading, even at school level.

The ability to recognize - then basically prove - radical ideas and theories is a difficult task; I think Newton created a larger change in thinking than did Einstein, but Einstein's theories go much further in explaining larger things.
I'm going with Newton, simply because I think he had more impact - but... wouldn't it be cool to see these two gentlemen meet and discuss physics for a couple of hours?

Newton's equations were more rudimentary and less complex than Einstein's equations. Yet Isaac Newton came up with brilliant calculus and analysis equations where there was not much mathematics to use as a foundation, he came up with a whole new field and he may of came up with the entire field of calculus (it could' have been Leibniz, I'm not trying to offend anyone). Einstein did come up with the entire field of relativity which is a one of the two pillars in modern physics but he couldn't have done it with out Newton's equations, in terms of intelligence Isaac Newton was estimated to have a IQ of 190 whilst Einstein had a IQ of 160. If we define intelligence in terms of IQ Newton wins if we define it in terms of accomplishment Newton still wins.

Even though I hardly trust the validity of alleged IQ performances, Newton *allegedly* had a 198 IQ, whereas Einstein had one around 160 or so. So, in that aspect, Newton is by far more intelligent.

So I can only suggest--but for 'better' and best

Genius Enshrined
"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."
—A. Einstein

Isaac Newton’s laws demanded,
Erstwhile theories countermanded,
Universal Time’s conception,
Changed our world from its inception.

Einstein, rebel moonbeam child,
Cosmic youth, from meek and mild,
To fantasizing rock star hero,
Set the cosmic law to zero.

The dice, he numbered one thru six,
Not of the gods, no game to fix,
Detractors will of needs be trumped,
Disabused, their data dumped.

A funny little man rides by,
He actually looks up to the sky,
We’ve heard it told, in ivory towers,
There’s more to life than twenty-four hours.

To seek the answer, unconcealed,
Was Stephen Hawking far afield?
Vicissitudes of matter whence,
The black hole’s gravitas was dense.

A genius will be wrong more than not,
His words forever put on the spot,
A whisper, a Muse, his wisdom, his art,
And never the horse before the cart.

Newton was certainly one of the most intelligent men that ever lived. Among his many accomplishments he defined gravity and the laws of motion. And in order to make his inroads in physics he also had develop calculus. Einstein, of course, is a close contender but I believe Newton accomplished more.

However, it is also interesting that we always think of physicists when we talk about intelligent people. Beethoven and Mozart displayed a level of intelligence that easily rivals Newton or Einstein. The only difference is that their intelligence was creative rather than analytical. Consider this: Science is discovered, not created. If Newton or Einstein hadn't lived someone else would have figured out the theory of gravity and the theory of relativity eventually. The same cannot be said for "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" or "An Die Freude"

Newton because he was building on much less and made greater leaps of intuition from the data he had. Einstein took relatively small amounts of very precise data and extrapolated, making some serious misjudgements along the way - but he certainly broke the box.

Newton was working a lot, noting the position of Halley's comet. It was a long and painstaking work after which he deduced the laws of gravity.

Einstein thought "outside the box:" If we can't measure the speed of light in a medium called, the ether, what does it mean? What if the speed of light is constant, whatever the point of observation?"

Both contributed to the achievement of science but in perhaps different ways. It is difficult then to say, who was best.
