How to solve a math question?
I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I did this at the beginnjng of my first semester and I forgot how to do it. They're easy numbers to do I just don't know what the first step is so if you could please tell me how to solve it it would mean a lot. Thanks!
Equation: y= 1/2x+2
y= -3x-3
回答 (3)
y= 1/2x+2
y= -3x-3
1/2x + 2 = - 3x - 3
Multiply all terms by 2:
2/2x + 4 = - 6x - 6
x + 4 = - 6x - 6
7x = - 10
x = - 10/7
What you're trying to do is to find the intersection between both equations. To do that, you must find the term that both equations have. In this equations, it is the 'y'. Therefore, you should make them equal each other. You should get:
1/2x+2=-3x-3
Then you just solve like a normal linear equation.

set the 2 y's = to each other , solve for x , then y
