Saving money for travel?

I'm 16 years old, I have been wanting to go to the Isle of Skye in Scotland for years. I have a part-time job and I babysit a lot. I have about $3000 saved up so far. I know it's not much but I save every penny I earn/find. I live in New Jersey and would like to know the cheapest way that I could get to Scotland. I don't plan on doing this until I'm at least 20, but I would like to plan as far in advance as possible. Have you ever been to the Isle of Skye? Are there fees for exploring the land? Hotels? Food? Is Scotland more expensive? What is the cheapest way of getting to Scotland from America? Any information you have will be of great use! Thank you!

The cheapest way is flying, in the off season. Mind you, you may not want to go in the off season, because the weather could be awful.
Glasgow would be the closest large airport.

You apparently have some years before you do this. Google everything. It's all there. Hotels, food, what to do and where to go, prices of everything.
