What is the correct way (decimal points, how many zeros) to calculate 2.9060 pence x 6,208?

I don't know whether to do 6,208 x 0.29060 or 0.029060. Thanks

2.906 x 6208 = 18040.45 pence

= 18,040.45 /100 = £180.40

same as

=0.02906 x 6208 = £180.40

Why are you moving the decimal point in only the pence?
