Please help to calculate the following maths question and kindly show the steps.

1/ Tom walks along a path AB of slope 1/4. If the vertical distance BC is 12m, find the horizontal distance AC.

2/ A(-5,-3) and B(-1,1) are two points in the rectangular coordinate plane. Find the coordinates of the midpoint of line segment AB.

3/ If A(3,1) and B(-2,-3) are two points in a rectangular coordinate plane, Find the slope of the straight line AB.

4/ On the first day of school, Tom surveyed the amount of money brought to school of ten students. The results are as follows:
$20, $20, $20, $30, $5, $30, $20, $30, $1000, $20.
He said:"The arithemetic mean of the amounts is $119.5. So, most of these ten students brought more than $100 to school."
Which of the following best explains why Tom's saying is misleading?
A. Tom did not get the correct arithmetic mean.
B. The extreme value easily affected the arithemtic mean.
C. The data values were not arranged in order.
D. The median was not equal to the arithemtic mean.

5/ Whe (x+1)(x+2)(x+3) is expanded, the result is x^3+6x^2+11x+6.
What is the result when x^3+6x^2+11x+6 is factorized?

✔ 最佳答案
1)
∵tanθ=slope=1/4
∴tanθ=12/AC
1/4=12/AC
AC=48m

2)
Mid-point= ( (-5-1)/2 , (-3+1)/2 ) = (-3,-1)

3)
Slope= [(-3)-(1)]/[(-2)-(3)]
=-4/-5
=4/5

4)
∵$1000 is an extreme value and it is easy to affect the arithemetic mean.
∴The answer is B.

5)
∵(x+1)(x+2)(x+3)=x^3+6x^2+11x+6
By factorizing x^3+6x^2+11x+6,
x^3+6x^2+11x+6
=(x+1)(x+2)(x+3)
