Question about cooking Bacon in the Oven.?

I read something about lining the pan with foil, spraying with non stick spray, putting bacon on pan AND then covering the top of the pan with foil and cooking. Supposedly the bacon will cook and brown in it's own fat. Anyone tried this and does it work?

Line baking sheet with aluminum foil, for ease of cleanup. Arrange bacon strips on baking sheet so that they aren't touching. Place sheet into COLD oven. Turn oven on to 400*F. 14-17 minutes = perfectly cooked bacon. You don't need to use any cooking spray; the bacon has enough fat in it to keep it from sticking.

You don't need the top foil. Line a pan with foil and lay them flat uncovered, 400F 18-20 mins. You can also stick a rack on the pan if you want the grease to drip off.

I use those disposable aluminum baking pans so there's no clean-up when I'm done!

You don't need to cover the pan and you don't need to put any oil on it.

Just line a glass baking dish with foil. That's it.

(The only reason you use foil is that it makes the clean-up easier. Wait for the grease to cool/harden, fold up foil and throw away.)

As a chef we did 20-30 large 24 X 32 inch trays are morning for our breakfast surface, not foil just right on the pan, 350 d F until cooked to your liking, and they do not curl up that way, start from cold to, you can line the pans with foil, but you have to dump the fat to take it off, and one pin hoe and the foil sticks.

This way turns out bacon as good as slowly sizzling it in a pan for 40-45 minutes.
