I've heard that apples are good in small amounts. Some friends of mine have a very sweet dog who is very energetic. As a treat, they core, peel, and then cut up an apple and toss it to her piece by piece and she loves it!

My dogs go insane over freeze dried meats (beef liver, chicken, turkey, venison, lamb, duck etc). Pretty much anything that isn't a biscuit or cookie they like.
My dogs like Orijen or http://www.wholelifepet.com/whole_life_pet_products.php#

Bit's of string cheese are great. Comes in handy packages, too. Some people use hot dogs, too. Liver treats are great, but they can be expensive. You can also make your own.

Fresh cooked chicken cut into little pieces. Freeze dried liver bits. No nuts raisins, grapes, chocolate or fatty foods. Anything your dog likes and will work for. Some dogs will work for petting. Some will work for a chance to fetch or catch a ball.

Freeze dried liver - you can find it at Pet Smart. There are no additives and it's made here on the continent so it's safer than many treats made overseas.
You can also bake sweet potatoes, let them cool. Peel the skin off as a treat for your dog. Mash the rest into a container and add a spoonful to her food at each meal.
