One of the beneficiaries in a trust had died. I was wondering about the following line in the trust on the remaining beneficiaries. The line reads: "If any beneficiary shall fail to survive [name redacted], the share of the trust estate allocated to such beneficiary shall be distributed to the issue of such beneficiary by right of representation." I guess the word "issue" is throwing me off. Does that mean the spouse or children of the deceased beneficiary would then be a new beneficiary?
