問問英文文法既問題

我係上個星期六同Tom 講我將會係19至21號期間偷一隻錶。我係20號偷左隻錶返黎，係當日下午將隻錶俾左Mary。宜家我同Tom 講"How about the watch" ，我答佢"I have given the watch to Mary." 咁樣答有無問題。

有問題!
It was you who stole the watch. You will still be convicted of the crime, although you have given the watch to Mary. Mary will probably be charged for keeping stolen goods in custody. Tom will be accused of conspiring with you, as he should have reported the case to the police.

冇問題, 因為你只係答阿Tom "我將隻錶俾左 Mary", 是將事實講左出黎, 而無涉及時間. 如果Tom問你幾時俾, 你先用番過去式回答 "I gave Mary the watch on 20th / in the afternoon of 20th".
