Mary had a bath last night."

100% Correct

Because you use past tense and the event was in the past and it does NOT affect the events now directly.

Therefore, you are 100% correct!

Hope I can help you ^_^

When Mary was in the bath last night, she died suddenly.

She died a sudden death in a bath ~ die 是 intransitive verb, 不能有 object
She died as a result of the bath ~ 因有 “the”, bath 可解 “浴缸, 浴室”, 出了問題?

Mary dropped dead when she took a bath last night.

Don't ask in Posting "whether or not".Whether or not can be sure to find out from the Responses that we did our best.
For last night's death=a sudden violent death=Mary.=The Subject.

She died suddenly last night when she had a bath----past tense
She died a sudden death in a bath-------past tense
She died as a result of the bath.-------past tense
She was dead (by a violent death) during her bathing-----past tense
She was bathing herself to a sudden death-----past continuous
=when she was bathing herself, she died suddenly
=she was bathed-------------past

When two actions happened in the past one after another, we use the past perfect tense for the first action.
The past perfect for a violent bathing death:-
When she had taken a bath, she died suddenly.
Before her death, she had bathed.
By the bath last night, Mary had died violently !

無問題, say whatever you want to say, as long as you don't waste other people's time.

Mary
