What would you think of a girl like her?

A girl just started to do non-pay work at your company to gain experience and she's only staying for five days. She is helpful when you ask her to do something, but when you don't, she just stand there awkwardly and don't do anything at all. What would you think of her? What would you like her to change or do?

Well since she JUST started, you cannot expect her to know exactly what needs to be done. She needs guidance letting her know where she will be best utilized as an assistant, and where she will be the most beneficial. You shouldn't expect her to know definitively what she should be doing for AT LEAST a couple weeks.

I believe she might be uncomfortable and nervous. Maybe she doesn't feel welcome yet to the situation. Try being friendly talk about the company give her information on what's going on so she gets the idea of what she could help with so you don't have to ask her to all the time so she already knows what you expect
