Toronto SIM CARD!?

I am visiting Toronto soon.

I would like to buy a sim card in the airport. Is it easy for visitors to buy a sim card (with data) in Pearson airport (YYZ)? Which providers do you recommend? And how much is it? Thanks.

Last time I was there (about a year ago) there were no SIM card vendors in the airport. You can get SIM cards at any large shopping mall. The main providers are Rogers, Bell, Telus (the big 3), Wind, and Mobilicity. Rogers, Bell, Telus and their sub-brands (Fido/Chatr, Virgin, and Koodo respectively) all use the same frequency bands. Wind and Mobilicity are compatible with each other but not with the big 3.

Data prices are on the high side. You can pay $20 for 1 GB/month from Bell (tablet flex plan). You can go to 7-Eleven and get a prepaid SIM that charges $0.25/minute for local calls, and buy data for $10/100 MB.

I use Koodo prepaid. My base plan costs $15/month for unlimited text, and I buy add-ons for minutes ($0.025/minute) and data ($0.03/1 MB) but these do not expire as long as I pay the base plan fee every month.
