During the height of the wars, the AF, Navy and Marines typically deployed for 6 months and then are at their home station for 6 months. The Army typically deployed for 12-15 months with one year at their home station.

The deployment cycle has also greatly slowed. Army typically deploys for 9 months now. And in all services, the length at home has increased to 12-18 months, even as long as 3-4 years for some units.

Canadian ones are usually 6 months. You are normally home at least a year in between them, depending on your trade. For mine, we went up to the Arctic every 4 years or so, on average.
