is marriage another way for women to survive?

How do explain women who don't want to get married? Or marry "beneath" them (they come from the wealthy family and he doesn't). The women who get married sometimes have a job and keep it after they get married. If they don't they still work at home not just "lay on the couch" usually they stay home with kids. Kids will not let someone just lay on the couch all day. Ur logic is flawed

Sorry to burst your bubble but not all women want men to finance their lives. Maybe the gold diggers but us career women marry for love because we make our own money & can afford a great life without a man.

Marriage is a convention by which both partners are supported - emotionally and financially. After all, there are plenty of women who earn more than their husbands, or who end up supporting their husbands financially if they lose their job - it isn't just men supporting women. It also quite literally binds people together, creating a more stable home for children, and for when the two of you get old and need that companion (there might be more consideration before a married couple split up, than a non-married one). Your view that all women are only in it for the money is a rather sad one - I earn more than my partner, so it's certainly not something that would have an impact on my decision to get married.
