I am serious, please do not take this as a joke. I want to study something that would enable me to find out a way to dramatically prolong human's lifespan, or even possibly to live forever.
Is studying to become a doctor (medicine) the correct degree to go? Is this doctor's field, or is this scientist's field?
Can I study medicine to achieve my goal? Thank you.

Do you have superior scientific research skills? You'll need MD + PhD. It's a very long, hard slog just earning the degrees you will need to pursue this. You need to be exceptionally brilliant, have a great deal of money, and be totally dedicated to this pursuit because you're looking at probably 10 (or so) years of graduate education beyond your bachelor's degree to pursue both MD & PhD.

That is why the field is called MEDICAL SCIENCE you would need both. By the time you have gotten qualified it will most likely have taken a new jump and you'd need to play catchup again. I hope you have a BIG bank account as you will be burning money like a volcano does stone.
