In my daydreams, I have always imagined what it would be like to be one of those heroes fighting these monsters. In the movies, the monsters were often super intelligent and heroes were beaten up pretty badly. If the hero won, they would usually receive a reward such as gold or his freedom.

Is above correct tense?

Thanks,
Matthew

depicted as super intelligent beings (depict = 描述, being = 生物)

award (prize, money, trophy.. etc) 與 freedom (abstract noun) 不同類
receive their awards or regain their freedom ~ parallel in structure
