must 必須,一定
命令或強制
such as when you are in the MTR, so you must not drink or eat.

cannot 不能
such as when you are in the classroom, you cannot drink or eat without teacher's
permission, but it doesn't mean that you cannot drink or eat.

You cannot eat and drink. 你不能夠進食或飲水。例如施完手術後便不可立即飲食，因為身體未能回愎運作。
You must not eat and drink. 你千萬不要進食或者飲水／其他飲料。 這個是急情的叮囑。
You cannot run. 你不可以跑步。
You must not run.你千祈不要跑啊！

Must
是命令式的,可以説是一定要或一定不可

You must not eat and drink.
你一定不可欫食。


Cannot
是勸喻的-不能夠-

You cannot eat and drink.
你不能飮食。

你問何種情況用

除了要明白
must...表示必須遵守或要求做的命令之外，當你是一個主持人或有權力/職權的人用cannot同樣是命令，但更多時用cannot可以是勸告/警告。

用中文的意義來講解的話 - 並且講者要考慮當事人的或環境的可行性
must not = 不准計/不可以 - 除了命令的人的用意外，受指示的人本身也要主動作出決定遵守。
cannot = 不能夠/不可能 - 除了命令或警告意義，同時亦可能是表達環境因素使被提示的當人可能是被動地/受限制地"不能"做出那行為。

因此兩個字不是單是強調或嚴重程度的互換使用，而是講者參考環境和情況對當事人的影響而說。

Must
是命令式的,可以説是一定......的意思

You must not eat and drink.
你不可以(一定)飮食。

You must not run.
你不可以(一定)奔跑。




Cannot
是不能的意思,你不能......的意思

You cannot eat and drink.
你不能飮食。

You cannot run.
您不能奔跑。
