I'm a music student in college and soon to be doing music in University. My parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas the other day and I said a Macbook.
So which is the better Macbook to buy? I'll need it for producing music (Pro Tools), social networking and word/powerpoint etc...
The price range is anything up to £1000.
The pro is better and the 13in is the same thickness as the thickest part of a macbook air and only 0.5 pounds heavier but a much nicer display and more powerful.
Macbook Pro. I am a student at Full Sail University, and they have this thing called launchbox and you get a macbook pro and other course based incentives. I know many underground music producers, who use the Macbook pro.
Go for Macbook Pro..
It's just amazing and better than Macbook Air!
Microsoft office tools are also available for Macbooks from the store..
Macbook Air is really good especially that it is very portable. The newest MacBook Air Late 2014 edition is the same specs as the expensive Macbook Pro late 2013. Also, the Macbook Air is only 2.38lbs (about 1kg)!!! It has an Intel Core i5 with up to 2.7 GHz! Has enough RAM capacity and is best if you really don't need to get a super good one. You can get a desktop to use at your home so...
But you know it's your opinion so you can decide but I suggest the Macbook Air, but both are good by the way.
參考: I have both computers, they're both good
You should expect 2 to 3 times the performance of your current MacBook in either the Air or the Pro, with the Pro performing 10-20% than the Air in CPU and GPU. Of course the main edge the Pro has is its retina screen.
Putting more memory in your current MacBook (if possible) would of course also do a great deal for its performance. An SSD would be an even bigger upgrade for your MacBook with it feeling like a new machine.
Both are great notebooks.depends on your needs.
In general, if size and weight are most important = Air.
If expansion (and an internal optical drive) is more important = Pro.
If expansion and performance are important, consider a 15" or 17" =Pro.
MacPro is good. Mac pro is so good as compared with Mac Air.
Go for macbook pro :
-15" retina display
-500Gb SSD
-Light weight
Macbook pro is expensive but it is good for both normal & professional use.
Macbook Professional. I'm students from Complete Cruise College, plus they possess this particular point known as launchbox and also you obtain a macbook professional along with other program dependent bonuses. I understand numerous subterranean songs suppliers, that make use of the Macbook professional.
You can use all the things you listed above on both Air and Pro. Although the Pro is more expensive it is a better choice.
For professional users and well-heeled gamers arguably the biggest justification for the top-spec Retina MacBook Pro is the discrete nVidia GPU with its 2 GB of video memory. As with the original Retina MacBook and previous Unibody models, these graphics are configured to automatically switch depending on loaded applications. You could also set only nVidia high-power graphics to be used (System Preferences/Energy Saver and deselect 'Automatic graphics switching'); or use the gfxCardStatus menu app to manually lock Intel graphics on.
For many users the 'low-power' Intel integrated graphics will prove quite sufficient, making the upgrade to nVidia machine less justifiable. In our tests, we found Intel Iris Pro could keep up with nVidia GeForce when playing games at standard screen resolutions. And in fact, Iris Pro could be faster.
Of the two, the MacBook Pro is way more rugged. The MacBook Air looks and feels a little fragile.
And, having humped a laptop around Humber College for two years, RUGGED is important.
FYI: Apple Computers as just as Upgradable as any truly comparable Windows PC.
Macbook Pro. I have that same computer and it a good use.
You can get a better PC a lot cheaper and it'll to the same/ if not a better job! Trust me. I went to school to do Graphic Design and got a Macbook Pro ... wish I'd of asked for a pc and spent the restof the money on something else.
Macs outdate and the only way to update is buy a new one; pc you can replace different bits. Mac are overpriced for what they can do ... they do look prettier though and I do prefer some of its features.
