Dump him. Relationships are simple. You either break up or get married. Do you want to deal with his favoritism for the rest of your life? If anybody treated my dog wrong they'd be out the door in a heartbeat.

Living together is all about sharing and compromise, not of just one person dictating what is and what is not permissible.

You either do NOT do it (move in) or have him move in to YOUR abode instead of his, therefore YOUR house rules apply, not HIS. Frankly, anybody telling you how to raise or handle your pets - sounds VERY problematic to me. Many relationship problems (with pets) ends up in a break-up.
