Ok so I am trying to find a current ratio for Telstra by dividing its current assets by its current liabilities which works out to this: $7,903,000,000/$7,522,000,000 - 1(358/7522) why isnt it just giving me a simple number over number fraction when i type it into the calculator? or is there any possible way to form a ratio from that number? thanks guys

What you appear to have written evaluates to
.. $7,903,000,000/$7,522,000,000 - 1(358/7522)
.. = 7903/7522 - 358/7522 … divide $1,000,000 from numerator and denominator of left term
.. = 7545/7522
.. = 1 + 23/7522
.. ≈ 1.00306
_____
7903/7522 = 1 + 381/7522 is irreducible. It can be approximated by any of several fractions with smaller denominators. The smaller the denominator, the greater the error.
Some possibilities are …
.. 20/19, 21/20, 62/59, 83/79, 643/612, 726/691
