Q1. if the product of a chemical reaction is not so stable to isolate/weigh/measure volumetrically/transfer under the experimental conditions, we just put the reactants together and let the reaction proceeds. Another reactant, supposed to have reaction with this first product, is also added to the system at appropriate time.Sorry, only Q1 is answered here.
