You didn't mention the type of photos that you want to take or any expectations.
Check out the Fujifilm XQ1 - it has the largest sensor of any camera in your price range and will give you greater ISO performance than any of the cameras with smaller sensors.
Go to flckr.com and do a search for the Fujifilm XQ1 and you'll get shots of pictures taken with the camera.

According to me the nikon coolpix l830 is indeed a very good camera. Its the "very close to dslr "point and shoot camera with a lesser price than 20k. I own it and its awesome. Sometimes I also use it for wildlife photography.
