問題如下:

If $70 000 is invested at 6% p.a. compounded monthly, find the compound interest
after 8 months.

If $8000 is deposited at 10%p.a. compounded monthly, find compound interest
after 3 months.

Give your answers correct to the nearest integer if necessary.

Amount = 70000 x (1 + 6%/12)^8
Interest = 70000 x (1 + 6%/12)^8 - 70000

Amount = 8000 x (1 + 10%/12)^3
Interest = 8000 x (1 + 10%/12)^3 - 8000

= $70000 x ((1 + 6/100)^8-1)
= $41569, cor. to nearest integer


2. If $8000 is deposited at 10%p.a. compounded monthly, find compound interest
after 3 months.

Interest
= $8000 x ((1 + 10/100)^3-1)
= $2648
