True or false: you respect the military?

True. I respect them more than anyone else.
I do. I may not agree with the war, cause, or politics of it, but I have a high amount of respect for those willing to die and shed blood for America.
I've had several friends give their lives to protect our rights and freedoms or whatever cause they believed in.
I respect them a-lot. To actually understand what they go through on a daily basis is a humbling thing.
True
I respect every individual as they are invaluable, even criminals. Within the military there are those who deserve respect and those who don't, either way I hold respect for them as living beings. Even those I dislike and disapprove of, I respect. Why? Because if I did not respect these individuals, I drive them further into isolation. Now I am not suggesting a correlation between these two groups, I am only suggesting that I have respect for everyone.
I do.
I grew up a brat and never really gave it thought until Afghanistan and Iraq...
The lower ranks are paid poorly, have to wear full armor in 120-degree weather, obey orders unconditionally by lieutenants that are younger than them and drill instructors that make them do pushups in pouring rain at 4am, and no privacy whatsoever.
You literally have to take a dump in front of 20 people... and all "possessions" are scrutinized by fellow soldiers in your tent.
That is TRULY serving a country.
I could never do that... at least not for America where I've faced racism all my life.
Maybe somewhere else?
Not here.
True, I don't respect decisions that get soldiers killed that don't accomplish anything.
I respect them in the same way that I respect all people who live good lives and respect others, no more, no less.
False
I feel sorry for them than I'm thankful. They're just being used. War=Money, remember?
