Equations with colons? ~Maths?

For chemistry AS we were given some maths calculations to do for some reason. I came across two questions like this:

20.2 cm : 7.41 s
40.002g :13.000005g

can someone explain to me how to do this? and what are the answers?
(im not taking maths as btw and i never did this in gcse)

Thank you in advance!

Those are ratios. Replace the colon by a division sign.

The colon is a common way to write ratios. You might also recall it's used in verbal analogy questions, like "light is to dark as hot is to cold", light:dark :: hot:cold

This is another way to express ratios (fractions). So,
20.2/7.41 = 2020/741 and
40.002/13.000005 = 40002000/13000005 = 8000400/2600001
