For 4x-1/5=2x+3/2, the answer should be 17/20 (NOT -17/2)
I think you forgot to put the brackets in the question. If the question is (4x-1)/5=(2x+3)/2, then the answer would be -17/2.
Steps:
(4x-1)/5=(2x+3)/2
=> 2(4x-1)=5(2x+3)
=> 8x-2=10x+15
=> 2x=-17
=> x=-17/2
