My headset's microphone keeps cutting out and my friend is unable to hear me quite a lot of the time but sometimes it's perfectly ok. I'm thinking of getting a new microphone for the headset I already have instead of a whole new headset. It has a detachable microphone so I'm guessing there may be working microphones for it. It's for my computer and I tend to use it on teamspeak, skype, mumble. Can anyone help?

Alternatively, maplins can probably supply a replacement component part if you are handy with a soldering iron and are willing to strip the thing down

Off the wall idea, have you jiggled your connection to see that fixes it?
