Is it possible for me to find a good career without a degree?

I am 31 years old and I hate my job. I'm single, no kids and last year I made $45,000; however, I worked overtime some times during that year. I have no idea how people with children can live off of that because I still struggled. I began college right after high school in 2001. My parents paid my tuition, apt rent and bills until I was like 25. I wasn't really going to class and I did a lot of partying. So, my grades were low and I dropped a lot of classes and wasn't really getting anywhere. I've been working full time since I was about 25 or 26 and in between I've taken classes in between. I have about 93 hours towards my BA in Public Relations, but it's really difficult for me to pay for school out of pocket and work full time. Now that I'm down to my major coursework, none of the classes are offered online and each class I need is offered maybe at 1 or 2 different times and you have to sign up for them really fast. I go to the University of Texas at Arlington. I totally want to finish my degree. I just don't know how I will do it. I feel like I need to make at least around $60,000 to live comfortably. I mean I would love to make more, but I think that would be enough for me to do the things I want to do, such as travel more. I have a very eclectic work history, but I've been at my current job for 6 years and I haven't gotten a raise in 4 years. I have done everything from substitute teaching and tutoring to retail and call centers. Is it possible for me to make good money

find ones of interest then check out either
series ;for dummies' or 'idiots guide to';

plenty of books in library to help u decide what to
do when 'grown up'.
u change as u go.

45000 even with o/t is good income for single.

What I have found is that a lot of places (not all, but a lot) don't really care what degree you have. They just want someone who knows how to do the job. They are not looking to be impressed by someone's fancy education -- they just need a certain job to be done.

So, no, you don't need a college degree to succeed. (And there are those WITH degrees that are unemployed or underemployed.)

This is a good time to ask yourself what you really want to do. Ask people in the field what it's like. Unfortunately, the media can be clueless sometimes about what fields are great or not, so be sure to ask people who have "been there." Then, find out what you need to do to get the job. It might not necessarily mean a degree. Maybe a certificate. Or find someone willing to train you. Above all: network, network, network.

If you want to complete the degree for the sake of completing it and the education, that's fine, too. Perhaps you can get financial aid or scholarships.
