I have to be specific the Nikon Coolpix l105 and I would like to have photos I accidently took without the card in the camera, onto the card so I can put them on my computer. Other than buying a new USB cable, is there a way to just move them onto my sd card? As mentioned, once I insert the card only the photos on the card show - when I take the card out is when I can see the ones stored in my cameras memory

According to page 114 of your manual (you can download a copy from Nikon), Press the Menu button, select Setup, select Copy.

Connect the camera without the card to a computer using the USB cable. Copy the pictures to the computer. Disconnect the camera and install the memory card. Connect again to the computer. Copy the pictures back to the memory card.

There is no guarantee the pictures will show up in Preview. It's not surprising if it won't. That's normal. Cameras are not viewing devices. They only show unaltered pictures they themselves took. Copying out then back in constitutes altering.

I don't have any of the cords that came with the camera

Upload the photos to your computer with the patch cord they supply with the camera.
