I have been playing piccolo for about 2/3 years now. Today, during marching band camp, i realized that the cork piece under one of my trill keys had fallen out. I need to fix it as soon as possible. How much do you think it will cost and what is the missing piece called? Also, I play flute in wind ensemble and I have case for that I really like (it's the pearl flute case) I was wondering if there were covers for piccolo cases so there will be a strap to carry it. I do not want a combo vase.

Re-padding a single key is quick and cheap. Any music store with a decent woodwind tech can do it in a minute or two. I'd charge about five bucks to a student unless the whole instrument was due for a re-pad. Don't try home fixes. You can make a mess that is very hard for the tech to clean up, and that's when the price goes way up. I've never seen a piccolo case cover by itself. Everything I've found are combo cases. Cased piccolos can fit in your pocket so there’s not a lot of demand for a shoulder strap. I don't think I've even seen a piccolo case with a handle on it.
