Try these....
Wipe the front of the sensor bar incase there's dust or muck on it.
Wipe the sensor on the remotes.
If you're too far away from the tv then the hand won't show up.
There could be something in the way blocking the signal, I once thought my Wii was broke but I had a glass of water in front of me and the signal wouldn't work.
Yes the three coloured things plug into the tv.
Try this....
1.Press the power button on the Wii to turn it on.
2.Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii. That's where the sync button is.
3.Press and release the sync button just below the batteries on the Wii remote, the LED on the front of the remote will blink, while the light is still blinking quickly press and release the sync button on the Wii.
4.When the LED blinking stops thy syncing is complete.
You then do the same for your other remote.
